Mortise prep is a rectangular pocket cut in the door edge (different from the standard 2-1/8" cross-bore for cylindrical knobs/levers). Narrow mortise pocket door locks (Adelaide, Brisbane) use a 1-3/4" wide mortise specifically for pocket doors.

Finishes

Satin Brass, Polished Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, and Flat Black are the most-specified; Unlacquered Brass and Sandcast Bronze finishes are "living finishes" that patina over time.

Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B) and Flat Black (US19) are durable but may show oxidation variation on beachfront properties.
