High-Security Locks — Brevard County, FL
Standard builder-grade locks are engineered to a price point, not to stop a determined intruder. Key-En-Lock installs and services Medeco and Mul-T-Lock high-security locks that resist picking, bumping, drilling, and unauthorized key duplication throughout Brevard County.
What Makes a Lock “High-Security”?
High-security locks earn their classification through design features that standard locks simply don’t have. These aren’t just heavier versions of normal locks — they’re fundamentally different inside, and certified to prove it.
Pick Resistant
Tight tolerances, security pins, and patented mechanisms make picking exponentially harder than any standard lock.
Bump Resistant
Engineered to defeat bump key attacks that open most standard locks in seconds with no skill required.
Drill Resistant
Hardened steel inserts and anti-drill plates protect the cylinder core from power tools and carbide bits.
Key Control
Patented keyways that cannot be duplicated without documented authorization — you control who gets a copy.
Medeco Locks & Keys
Medeco is the American gold standard in high-security locks. Made in Salem, Virginia, every Medeco lock features a patented rotating-pin mechanism with angularly cut keys that are virtually impossible to pick, bump, or duplicate without authorization. UL 437 listed and ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 rated.
Medeco Lock Lines
Medeco produces locks in several product families, each sharing the same patented rotating-pin cylinder technology but optimized for different applications and security levels. Key-En-Lock stocks and installs the full Medeco line.
Full Medeco details →Medeco Maxum Deadbolt
Medeco’s strongest residential deadbolt. 1-inch hardened steel bolt with anti-saw inserts, reinforced strike, and the full Medeco rotating-pin cylinder. The standard choice for front door upgrades.
Medeco Biaxial Deadbolt
The Biaxial cylinder adds a second dimension of key control — pins rotate both left-right AND up-down. The most pick-resistant Medeco cylinder for residential and light commercial use.
Medeco3 Deadbolt
The third-generation Medeco platform combining rotating pins, sidebar engagement, and an anti-pick element. Medeco3 keys are different from older Medeco keys and offer the highest level of key control in the residential line.
Medeco Securit Knobset
High-security knob locks for interior and secondary doors. Uses the same rotating-pin Medeco cylinder as the deadbolts so one key system controls every lock in your home or building.
Medeco Mortise Cylinder
Drop-in high-security upgrade for commercial mortise locksets (Schlage L-series, Sargent, Corbin Russwin, etc.). Replaces the standard cylinder without changing the lockset hardware — the most cost-effective commercial upgrade.
Medeco Rim Cylinder
Used with rim locks, night latches, and surface-mounted deadbolts. Provides Medeco-level security for gate locks, storage units, and older door configurations that use rim-mount hardware.
Medeco High-Security Padlock
Hardened boron-steel shackle with Medeco cylinder. Used for outdoor gates, storage units, equipment, and chain security where standard padlocks are too easily defeated. Available in multiple shackle heights.
Medeco XT Key System
The XT platform provides maximum key control with a restricted keyway that cannot be duplicated without factory-registered authorization. Keys are tracked by serial number with a documented chain of custody.
Medeco Biaxial Key
The original Medeco restricted key with angular cuts at multiple angles. Requires a specialized code-cutting machine and authorization card to duplicate. Works with all Biaxial and older Medeco cylinders.
Medeco3 Key
Third-generation Medeco key with updated cut geometry for the Medeco3 cylinder platform. Not backward compatible with older Medeco cylinders — the cylinder and key are a matched system.
Medeco Commercial Master Key System
Grand master, master, and change-key systems for multi-building properties, apartment complexes, and commercial facilities. Medeco’s restricted keyways mean no unauthorized keys can enter the system — critical for property managers.
Medeco Best SFIC Core
Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) for facilities using Best “A” keyway systems. Drops into existing Best-compatible hardware to add Medeco rotating-pin security without replacing locksets.
Mul-T-Lock Locks & Keys
Mul-T-Lock uses a patented telescoping pin-in-pin (Interactive) mechanism that is considered one of the most pick, bump, and manipulation-resistant cylinder designs ever built. Trusted by governments, military facilities, and high-security commercial buildings worldwide. Key-En-Lock installs the full Mul-T-Lock product line.
Mul-T-Lock Product Lines
Mul-T-Lock produces several cylinder families and key platforms. The Interactive and Interactive+ platforms represent their highest security levels. All share the telescoping pin-in-pin design that makes duplication and picking so difficult.
Full Mul-T-Lock details →Mul-T-Lock MT5+ Deadbolt
The flagship Mul-T-Lock residential deadbolt using the MT5+ Interactive+ cylinder. The floating element inside the cylinder requires precise manipulation to align — essentially unbeatable with conventional picking tools.
Mul-T-Lock Classic Pro Deadbolt
The Classic Pro uses the original Interactive cylinder — still one of the most secure cylinders available. More affordable than the MT5+ line while maintaining all the core security features that make Mul-T-Lock exceptional.
Mul-T-Lock MT5+ Mortise Lock
Full mortise lock body with MT5+ Interactive+ cylinder built in. Used in commercial and high-end residential doors with mortise prep. Handles, deadbolt, and latch in one integrated unit with maximum cylinder security.
Mul-T-Lock MT5+ Mortise Cylinder
Drop-in replacement cylinder for existing commercial mortise locks. Converts a standard Schlage L-series, Sargent, or Corbin Russwin mortise lock to MT5+ security without replacing the lockset body.
Mul-T-Lock Integrator Leversets
Commercial-grade lever trim with MT5+ Interactive+ cylinder. Available in classroom, office, and storeroom functions. Pairs with Mul-T-Lock deadbolts for a unified restricted key system across an entire facility.
Mul-T-Lock Interactive+ Padlock
Hardened steel body with boron-alloy shackle and full Interactive+ cylinder. Resists cutting, drilling, picking, and pulling. Available in shackle heights from 3/4" to 2" for gates, storage units, and equipment.
Mul-T-Lock Classic Padlock
The Classic Interactive cylinder in a padlock body. Ideal for indoor equipment, tool storage, and applications where the full MT5+ padlock would be over-specified. Still far beyond any standard padlock in security.
Mul-T-Lock MT5+ Euro Cylinder
Euro profile (DIN) cylinder for European-style doors common in luxury condos, impact-rated doors, and modern commercial applications. Same MT5+ security in the cylindrical euro format.
Mul-T-Lock 7x7 Cylinder
Seven-disc detainer mechanism for applications requiring the absolute maximum in pick resistance. Used in safes, high-security vaults, and specialty applications where even the Interactive+ standard isn’t enough.
Mul-T-Lock MT5+ Interactive+ Key
The highest-level Mul-T-Lock key featuring a floating element that moves inside the key blade. Must interact precisely with the matching element inside the cylinder. Cannot be copied on standard key machines — requires the MT5+ code cutter and authorization.
Mul-T-Lock Classic Interactive Key
The original Interactive platform key. Telescoping pins must align at two levels simultaneously. Still one of the most secure key systems available and works with all Classic Interactive cylinders. Authorization required for duplication.
Mul-T-Lock Master Key System
Commercial master key hierarchies built on the MT5+ Interactive+ platform. Grand master, master, and individual change keys with full restricted key control. No unauthorized key can ever enter the system — every key is tracked by serial number.

Take Control of Who Can Duplicate Your Keys
“Do Not Duplicate” stamped on a key means absolutely nothing — any hardware store will copy it anyway. A restricted key system uses a patented keyway that cannot be copied without documented authorization from you. Only Key-En-Lock can cut new keys, and only with your written approval.
Homeowners
Know exactly how many keys exist for your home — always. Prevent copies being made when contractors, housesitters, or tenants leave.
Landlords
Control key duplication across all your rental units. Never worry about a tenant making copies before they move out.
Businesses
Track who has keys to every door. Restrict access when employees leave — no rekeying required if key control is maintained.
Property Managers
Maintain documented key control across multi-building properties. Grand master, master, and change-key systems with full audit trails.

High-Security Lock FAQ
What is the difference between Medeco and Mul-T-Lock?
Both are excellent and similarly priced. Medeco uses angular key cuts with rotating pins and a sidebar — considered the benchmark US high-security cylinder. Mul-T-Lock uses a telescoping pin-in-pin (Interactive) mechanism that is arguably harder to pick. We recommend Medeco when Medeco’s Biaxial or XT key system is preferred, and Mul-T-Lock MT5+ when you want the maximum pick resistance or need commercial mortise cylinder retrofits. We carry and install both.
Can I retrofit a high-security cylinder into my existing hardware?
Very often yes. Medeco and Mul-T-Lock both produce mortise cylinders that drop directly into Schlage L-series, Sargent, Corbin Russwin, and most other commercial locksets. For residential deadbolts we typically replace the entire unit. We assess your door prep on-site and recommend the most cost-effective approach.
Is a high-security lock worth the cost for a home?
If you have valuables, an elderly family member, or a home-based business, yes. A Medeco or Mul-T-Lock deadbolt on your main entry doors costs roughly $300–$450 installed — often less than one year of a home security monitoring subscription — and provides physical protection no alarm system can match.
How do I get more keys made for a restricted system?
You contact Key-En-Lock with your key authorization card and a valid ID. We verify your authorization and cut the new key. No one else can copy a restricted Medeco or Mul-T-Lock key — that’s the whole point. Lost your card? We walk you through the re-authorization process with the manufacturer.
Can high-security locks be master-keyed?
Yes, and they’re actually better suited for master key systems than standard locks. Because duplication requires authorization, you can build a multi-level master key hierarchy (grand master → master → change keys) without worrying about unauthorized copies entering the system. We design and install Medeco and Mul-T-Lock master key systems for apartments, HOAs, and commercial buildings throughout Brevard County.
Do you carry Medeco and Mul-T-Lock in stock?
Yes. Key-En-Lock is an authorized Medeco dealer and Mul-T-Lock installer. We stock the most common residential deadbolt configurations and mortise cylinders at our Melbourne shop. Less common formats are typically available within 2–3 business days.
