Yes. In 2024, ASSA ABLOY rebranded its Yale Commercial business to ACCENTRA. The 8800 Series mortise lock, 7000 Series exit devices, and the full Yale commercial lineup are identical products under the new brand name. Parts interchange between legacy Yale 8800 and current ACCENTRA 8800. Packaging changed, part numbers stayed. What's the difference between 8800 and SL8800?
The standard 8800FL with most trim options is Grade 1 Operational only. The SL8800 variant and the 8800FL paired with CN escutcheon meet Grade 1 Security in addition to Operational — reinforced deadbolt, tamper-resistant trim, upgraded internal components. If your spec requires full Grade 1 Operational AND Security, use SL8800 or 8800FL+CN. If Grade 1 Operational is sufficient, the standard 8800 with sectional trim is the cost-effective option.
How does ACCENTRA 8800 compare to Schlage L9000 and Sargent 8200?
All three are Grade 1 mortise locks. ACCENTRA 8800 wins on installation speed — the free-floating front plate and field-reversible latchbolt are faster to install and spec-change than competitors. Schlage L9000 wins on key control depth (Primus XP). Sargent 8200 wins on chassis durability.
