⚠️ Important — Read Before Changing Any Codes

  • Always keep the door open while programming or changing codes. Test the new code at least 3 times with the door open before closing it. Lockout service due to a bad code change is avoidable and expensive.
  • If your lock is acting up randomly — beeping for no reason, not responding consistently, or rejecting known-good codes — have it serviced or replaced now. A lock that fails completely will cost far more to deal with in an emergency than a planned repair or replacement. Don't wait until you're locked out.

About Alarm Lock Trilogy

The Alarm Lock Trilogy series by Napco Security Technologies is a commercial-grade electronic keypad lock system used on offices, warehouses, schools, and institutions. Understanding the Code Grid

Trilogy locks organize codes in a grid of 10 Banks (columns 0-9) and 10 rows (0-9). Each grid position is a 2-digit location from 00 to 99. Manager Codes are located at positions ending in 0 (00, 10, 20, 30...90). Basic User Codes fill the remaining positions (01-09, 11-19, etc.).

Change the Master Code

First-Time Setup: Change Factory Master Code

  1. Press the factory Master Code: 1-2-3-4-5. A beep sounds and the lock opens.
  2. Within 5 seconds, press (star key, labeled "A" on some models).
  3. Within 5 seconds, enter a new Master Code (3-5 digits).
  4. Re-enter the new Master Code to validate.
  5. A 6-beep acknowledgment with red LED confirms success.
  6. Wait 5 seconds for the lock to re-lock.
  7. Test the new Master Code by entering it — the lock should beep and unlock.
1-2-3-4-5 → ★ → [new MC] → [repeat MC] → 6 beeps
⚠️ IMPORTANT: The length of your Master Code determines the length for ALL subsequent Manager and User Codes. Choose carefully.

Troubleshooting

  • Lock plays musical scale with 2 digits + star: This is the Lock Identifier feature — confirms you have a T2 (enhanced) model.
  • 5-beep error tone: The code is valid but has been disabled. Re-enable using the Master Code.
  • Low battery warning: Replace all 5 AA batteries with fresh Duracell alkalines immediately.
  • Forgot Master Code: A factory reset (above) will restore the default 1-2-3-4-5 Master Code.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the default Master Code on an Alarm Lock Trilogy?

The factory default Master Code on all Alarm Lock Trilogy T2 locks (DL2700, DL2800, DL3000, etc.) is 1-2-3-4-5. You should change this immediately after installation for security.

How many user codes can the Trilogy DL2700 hold?

The Trilogy T2 DL2700 supports up to 100 user codes: 1 Master Code, 10 Manager Codes (banks 01-10), and 90 basic User Codes (banks 11-100). Each code is 3-6 digits. There are also 3 one-time Service Codes available.

What is a Service Code on an Alarm Lock Trilogy?

A Service Code is a one-time-use access code. Once entered, the code automatically deletes itself and cannot be used again. This is ideal for giving temporary access to a repair technician or delivery person without needing to delete the code afterward.

Can I program the Trilogy from a computer?

Yes. Alarm Lock offers free DL-Windows software that lets you program the lock via a PC using the optional AL-DTM Data Transfer Module or AL-PCI cable. This is useful for managing large numbers of users or setting up scheduled access times.
