Wrong Code Lockout
After 4 consecutive incorrect codes, the 6123 shuts down for up to 15 minutes. Do NOT press any buttons during lockout — pressing any key resets the timer to maximum penalty time. Wait the full period, then enter a valid code.
Management Reset Code (MRC)
⚠️ Emergency Reset — Use Only If Master Code Is Lost
The MRC (Management Reset Code) is set at the factory before the Master Code is first changed. If you have the MRC and need to reset:
- Ensure good batteries are installed and the cable is connected.
- Do NOT press any buttons for at least 15 minutes.
- Enter 7 4 * [MRC] # 1 * 1 2 3 4 5 6 # 1 2 3 4 5 6 #.
- The lock should now be in Single User Mode with Master Code 1-2-3-4-5-6.
Troubleshooting
- "Brap" sound during programming: An error occurred in the sequence. The previous code is preserved. Start the entire sequence over from the beginning.
- Lock in lockout mode: Wait 15 minutes without touching any buttons, then enter a valid code.
- Codes won't work after battery change: Codes are stored in non-volatile memory and survive battery changes. If codes don't work, you may be entering them incorrectly — try the factory default 1-2-3-4-5-6.
- Bolt won't retract: Move the safe handle to the fully locked position to relieve pressure, then re-enter the code.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the S&G 6120 and 6123?
The 6120 is a basic electronic safe lock with a Master Code and up to 8 User Codes. The 6123 is the advanced "Comptronic" model with additional features: Supervisor/User mode, Dual Control mode (requires two people to open), up to 99-minute time delay, time delay override codes, and a Management Reset Code option.
What is Dual Control mode on the S&G 6123?
Dual Control mode requires two different people to enter two different valid codes to open the safe. Neither person can open it alone. This is a security requirement for many commercial and financial applications. It's activated by the Master Code holder using the sequence: 32* [MC] # 1 # 1 #.
What is the Management Reset Code (MRC) on the S&G 6123?
The MRC is a special factory-set emergency code that can be used to reset the lock if the Master Code is lost. It must be enabled before the Master Code is changed for the first time. If you don't have the MRC and lose the Master Code, the safe will need to be drilled open by a professional.
Why does the S&G 6123 make a "brap" sound?
A "brap" (long continuous tone) indicates an error in the programming sequence. The previous code is preserved and still valid. Start the entire programming sequence over from the beginning. The most common cause is pressing buttons too quickly or entering the wrong existing code.
